Branding can literally save lives!

Oasis South Africa are the proud owners of their newly branded bus...

In Cosmo City, South Africa, there are loads of unlicensed taxis. This makes the licensed taxi drivers mad and as a result they drive around on the lookout for those operating without a licence. Not too long ago the Oasis bus was unmarked and the drivers' lives were in genuine danger for driving what looked very much like an unlicensed taxi. But now that the new logo is branded on the side they can finally drive around in safety.

The new branding is making a difference in ways we could never have imagined!

Our walls are made of paper...

Client: Novae plc.

Brief: Refresh the interior office space of the Novae HQ to reflect the recent brand development by the ABA brand team.

Solution: Our interiors team took the paper sculptures developed with Jeff Nishinaka and the ABA brand team, then used them as central features in the Novae offices. They sourced furniture that reflected Novae’s modern and sophisticated professionalism and also appeals to their visitors and clients. In the process of refurbishment they were able to use furniture they had sourced for Novae six years ago, proving the quality of our suppliers. As a result of the refurbishment the new brand has been imbued throughout the offices. They found intuitive ways of reclaiming negative space creating more much needed meeting areas.

Back to school

The brief: Design and deliver the branding and way-finding solutions for the new Oasis Academy John Williams as they make their transition to a new building.

The Solution: Oasis Academy John Williams brought us in to help with the branding and way-finding in their new building. We believe that quality branding goes far beyond the realms of aesthetics, it can influence the environment leaving lasting impressions.

We worked with the staff and students to develop and then embed academy values. This included workshops with the students and training sessions with the staff where we explored their frustrations and fears, their excitement and the opportunities that came with transitioning to a new building. The values, which became known as the Bristol 5, are creativity, explorations, performance, global, and independence.

The values are communicated throughout the academy via digital displays, branding with photography and graphics, but most significantly it is beginning to be owned and reciprocated in the hearts and minds of the staff and pupils.

We are currently working on the branding for five new academies opening in 2010/11.

Making waves. A residential refurbishment

Client: Private client

The brief: To conceptualise and install the refurbishment of a residential property

The Solution: Our client was looking for a solution that would bring sophistication, light and warmth to the suite. The pictures show the ensuite where we commissioned and installed bespoke corian units. The first photograph shows the wave basins designed and crafted for our client.

The second photograph shows the new feature wall that we created using a sheet of silk encapsulated in resin that we then rear-lit. This beautiful material is one of many created by 3-Form (www.3-form.com) and helped us achieve the look and feel that we craved.

The design process went from concept to completion within a 12 week period onsite. As with any job there was an air of anticipation before we saw the finished product. Would it reflect our original plans? We’re pleased to say that yes it did! We’re proud of our highly innovative designs that pushed the boundaries for use of our materials and most importantly we left behind a happy client.

18 cities in 18 months

Andy, our faithful interiors director, has now completed his huge tour of ‘Hyundai’ Europe. During that time we worked closely with the Hyundai European dealer network development team and Vizona to craft a fresh environment for their vehicles and enhance their customer experience. The implementation of our showroom guidelines continues to assist Hyundai in the UK to complete the roll out of new showrooms.

Schnitzel in Frankfurt

We’ve been really excited to have joined forces with Mace on a workplace project for Invesco, Frankfurt. Working with a challenging curvaceous space inside the Welle (Wave) building, we opened up the area and created a central cafĂ© style meeting point overlooking the roof garden. But best of all, we were introduced to the wonder that is the “Schnitzel”!
